FIX YOUR CREDIT FAST But first some common
sense is in order
Bad Credit. No
Credit History. Need credit?
Been doing a credit
search for half your life?
Dont understand
those pesky credit scores?
Well... IMPROVE
YOUR CREDIT!
Sigh. I'm sure you sensed my sarcasm.
If
you're like most of us, you've probably had it up to here
with the credit repair business over the Internet. For people
who work in the credit industry or personal finance field
its a daily struggle to be productive helping people with
their credit issues amongst all the credit repair hoopla all
over the Internet. Everyone seems to be a credit expert these
days. Especially on social media channels. Who knew Twitter
had so many financial experts! Spammer's sure ruin everything.
Someone spot a flimsy ebook on Clickbank
and suddenly they're a "fix credit fast" expert
with a domain name with at least 10 hyphens. www.Credit-clean-up-improve-credit-report-fix-credit-fast.com
probably really does exist. Dont look. I didn't. You get where
I'm going with this. Everyone either wants a credit magic
cure, credit search business or even to jump on the credit
repair bandwagon and hope to make a fortune, usually at the
potential customer's expense. I've never seen SO MANY credit
repair business models in all my life. I had no idea the Internet
has 5060708809087 credit repair attorneys. It's actually quite
silly if it weren't such a serious issue. When it comes to
consumers who are already struggling to pay their bills and
are looking for a legal way to fix their credit, losing money
is no laughing matter.
Rather than be a victim to any of those
credit scams, you're much better off following your gut instincts.
It's played out but... If it looks too good to be true, it
probably is. This is especially true for credit repair because
its so easy to be victimized when you're in a vulnerable spot
and "need credit fast" -- as the ads plastered all
over the Web tell us. Call me a party pooper but there is
no magic credit repair fix. There is no "amazing
software!" and there are no experts who all just happen
to be ex-employees of the credit bureaus.
I've heard it all and hopefully you have
to.
The good news is that credit repair (oh,
how I hate that phrase) is legal. Why its called credit repair,
I dont know. You're not fixing a leaky sink or a flat tire.
The negative connotation attached to that phrase alone is
enough to shiver me timbers. Let's just call it what it is.
Credit problems. Whether it's a charge off, collection account,
tax lien, judgment or erroneous account that doesn't belong
to you, it's a problem.
Even better news is that you don't have
to accept it and move on wearing your scarlet letter or walk
around carrying a sign with your terrible credit score. If
it's a problem - whether yours or someone else's, most of
the time it can be corrected. It's really just a matter of
simple principles to follow when you go feet first into fixing
your credit history. Mistakes are the last thing you need
when you're already looking at a lousy credit score so education
is paramount.

The Federal Trade Commission is a gold mine: You'll find
great information about the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair
Debt Collection Act and other credit laws and case histories
at the FTC website. Simply search the term you're looking
for like "collection agency lawsuits" or "credit
repair companies" on the site's home page.
